Wrath of Khan Ceti Eel & Star Wars Admiral Akbar by Jared Wynn

It has been a while since we last showed this artist, as he has been extremely busy with his company (Pariah Viscom, LLC). He is doing great things in this art form. And… he is looking for someone that has significant casting experience to work with!

Over the last two months I have been working on a major toy design project and usually I was working in Mudbox but I had to jump over to Zbrush to finish the job and I couldn’t be happier with the software. I have seen other artists do amazing work with it and I know that the sky is the limit with it so to speak. So I have been working on taking old sculpts and improving them in Zbrush and doing new sculpts entirely.

For my portfolio last year I sculpted a bust of Admiral Ackbar from Return of the Jedi in Mudbox. I decided to improve the sculpt and bring it into Zbrush with the intention of adding a few details that I couldn’t do in Mudbox because of it’s limitations. Recently after finishing a recent project I started a Ceti Eel from Star Trek II – The Wrath of Khan after seeing the new, beautiful, color corrected HD transfer that was released this summer. I created the main body and legs using zspheres. Jean-Marc Deschamps asked me on Facebook if I was going to produce a resin version of this. I haven’t decided yet since I did this mainly for my portfolio. I would have to find someone who could print this at cost and then I could mold it and cast it myself.

Thanks,

JARED WYNN
