Modeler’s Miniatures & Magic, along with Kuhn Global Inc. were extremely pleased to put on a Make-A-Wish Foundation event for 16 year old Joshua Hickey! Joshua has had heart issues since he was born and has undergone several surgery procedures in his life. This bright young man made a wish… one that we all appreciate here. Joshua was able to travel to the set of Star Wars in London where he met with director JJ Abrams and actor Harrison Ford… in front of the full sized Millennium Falcon! To make things ongoing, and with the Make-A-Wish Foundation having our backs, we were able to give Joshua a studio scale TIE Fighter and a Hasbro X-Wing Studio conversion re-built and painted by famed artist Marc Elkins! Also, with the fine help of Entertainment Earth, we were able to give Joshua an officially licensed eFX Collectibles Storm Trooper Helmet. Famed collector Michael Plante heard of Joshua’s event and sent several of the more expensive Star Wars Toy Collectibles to be had for him! With Lucasfilm/Disney approval, to top off an already amazing event, The 501st Legion, The Rebel Legion, The Mandalorian Mercs, and The Twin Suns clubs all came to support young Joshua in this event! They were magnificent and exactly what we are all about…. INSPIRATION! I cannot thank them all enough for what they did here, especially Derek Mazer of The Twin Suns for assisting in legal permissions, and Manoah Crane of the 501st Legion. Also in attendance in support of Joshua was the former Mayor of Fresno City… the Honorable Alan Autry! The event itself was held in the massive warehouse of Central Distributing, with the chairs and photo backdrop donated by Expo Party Rentals. What a fantastic event for a very worthy cause. Joshua and his Family are amazing! Even Joshua’s Bishop from his church came in support! FANTASTIC!! I wish to thank EVERYONE for making this happen. This is only the beginning for Modeler Magic and Make-A-Wish. We are currently working on a plan for many more events, on a much larger scale to make these dreams come true for these fantastic recipients. Thank you all!
