1976 REVELL – 1/48 Apollo 8 by Steve Carricato for the Curtis Hughes Collection

I just finished the Apollo 8 Lunar Lander and Service Module Commission Build! This one took only 3 months to complete for Mr. Curtis Hughes. The kit is the 1976 1/48 scale Revell History Maker kit. I used 2 candy bar  wrappers, gold and copper, for the Lunar Spacecraft. I drilled out the landing legs and added brass tubing (1.2 mm and 1 mm brass rod) for the joints so the legs can be shown down, or stored in position. The whole model can be taken apart to show various parts of the spacecrafts and positions during both docked, and in flight!

The model measures: Width 5 ¾”, Height 22 ¼”, Scale 1:48, Parts: 171.

They really new how to build excellent Science models of the day!  Thanks Revell! This was a fun kit to build! I am thinking about doing one for myself  now that it is available again! In fact I am ordering 3 kits from Revell for more commission builds! Anyone interested, the price is $450.00 + SH $21.95. I accept PayPal ONLY for Commissions.
Thanks again!
