31 inches HUGE at 1:12 Scale!!

Built by famed Artist

JASON EATON!!

Sitting at approximately 20 pounds, this was built with a metal armature, sturdy resin and epoxy construction!

This is a severely modified 1:12th Viper patterned by the very talented Mike Salzo. I backdated the design a bit to fit into the Ron Moore Battlestar Galactica scheme, imagining it to be a “Mark 1” design. Lights include blinking port and starboard navigation lights, strobing white light on the top winglet, lit Viper Pilot helmet, three engine (one is experiencing a “flame out” as shown in the cockpit’s upper schematic/display, cockpit fiber optics, and a first in model making from what i can tell – an LED screen that cycles a Dradis display I designed to look like a cross between the one seen on the show, and on the original 1979 series! Every second, it refreshes with an updated readout – showing Vipers, Raiders, and Basestars (represented as asterix of course) moving around the field, with energy and fuel bars also slowly being depleted. Then, the last few screens shimmer with feedback – the Cylons are jamming us!!
Kool Shade in the front inlet (with a 1/24th New Galactica Viper engine grown from the studio files inset behind this as an inside joke), photo etch, custom decals, a lasercut base aged to look like bronze (with original series “bird” casting), wall plug, and sturdy metal “gas pipe” armature. Custom pilot with hand sculpted “First Cylon War” uniform (referenced from a BSG auction photograph), lit “backdated” helmet, fully detailed cockpit with canopy release handles, flight stick, etc. Open engine covers in two places showcase what looks like a well-worn and often-repaired engine, and the warm white leds in this engine outlet show how it is struggling to function. When the lights are off, a subtle wash of powdered pigments over top of the clear resin gives a very convincing mechanical effect, so the model looks good lit or not. The side “trenches” of greeblies are all hand laid and feature real vintage styrene donor parts, and the underside of the model also feature many studio scale donor pieces from styrene kits. The entire display weighs approximately 20 pounds, and the Viper can easily be removed from the pipe for ease of transport. You will pay shipping via “Craters and Freighters”, a professional white glove delivery service – this will guarantee that this model will arrive intact.

Jason Eaton

Jason Eaton is a model builder who has spent the past fourteen years working with Star Wars license holders including Master Replicas, EFX, and Sideshow, creating paint masters and prototypes for many of the studio scale and scaled props, ships, and characters seen in the Star Wars films, and is honored to continue the work in this new era of Star Wars subjects. He has also performed this service for many other licenses and license holders such as Palisades Toys, Quantum Mechanix, Hollywood Collectibles Group, and Chronicle Collectibles, as well as the occasional private commission work for various private clients. His passion and dedication has sent him to the Skywalker Ranch archives, Tokyo Japan, and many other places, always striving to better the hobby and the work. He’s more of a builder and less of a collector, so sometimes his personal work will “leave the nest” to make way for the next hare-brained project! He also thinks speaking in the third person is weird.
