“Romulan Aggressor” – Scratch & Bash creation by Jeff Pollizzotto

Artist Jeff Pollizzotto never ceases to amaze me with his creations! I must admit to being surprised with what he utilized in this amazing design… a Galaxy Quest Nebulizer! Just look at how well it contributed to the very sleek and aggressive design! If Romulans were to have fighters…. this would fit right in! I love it!

Here is what Jeff has to say…

ROMULAN “AGGRESSOR”

Single seat fighter

When I first purchased the “Galaxy Quest” 1:1 scale pistol and communicator kits (and built ups) I loved the shape of the pistol and thought it would make a cool spaceship model.

After a couple of quick sketches, I settled on a “Next Generation” style Romulan fighter, something that was never shown in the series. The aggressive shape of the pistol (turned 180 degrees around) was a natural!

Everything except for the pistol body was scratch built. The underside fuselage part was vacuum formed from a Ren-Shape mold as was the form for the clear canopy. The cockpit and pilot seat was scratch built and some photo etched aircraft details were added.

The plating on the fuselage was made from thin styrene cut to fit the basic shape of the pistol. The copper plates in the nose and the sides simulate a very aggressive “cloaking” projector system for this ship.

It was painted in a mix of Tamiya acrylics and weathered with oils and powders.
