Kit Description: Cylon Tanker in studio scale
That happens if you want to have a model but there is no chance to get it.
So I decided to build it on my own with the help of photos of the original model. In an article on the following website https://www.modelermagic.com are the measurements and pictures of the original model published.
After I had bought the corresponding model kits (which were used for the original model) I started working on my model.
Due to the reason that I needed the tanker twice for a diorama, I prepared the moulds and casted it in Resin.
The specifications of the model are really amazing: about 1100 mm long, 190 mm width and 6kg Resin. The time required for construction including silicone rubber moulds and research on the internet about the original movie model and the building kits needed was about 700 hours.
The model exists only of my own Resin moulds which I could use directly with only a few precision work (working time about 35 hours). The model is composed of only 180 high definition pieces which present the model really original.
The model is painted and aged only with oil colors after the original model (tank bays in dark grey and the outside with a mixture of brown).
The light heels on the bow are created by sanding the color down. After looking at the Macrophotographs (the death of every model maker) I realized that the priming was a bit to coarse but in normal condition it is not seen.
Due to the demand I offer, starting from January 2019, the model kit including the needed Evergreen profiles, a photo book as construction manual and the varnish stencil for the writing of the tank bays and the Cylon Logo for sale.
